Provo River Rafting - Rafting on Provo River UT
The Provo River in Utah is one of the most picaresque waterways in America. Wildlife abounds and the water is rapid but not too fast. River rafts can be rented for self-guided rides, you can join a guided tour, or you can bring your own raft. If you bring your own raft or tube, make sure it is heavy-duty enough to withstand the rocks and bushes along the side of the river. During some mountain run-off periods, the river can be dangerously fast and high. It is recommended to check the Provo River Water Flow before engaging on a self-guided ride.

Rent From an Outfitter or Bring Your Own Raft
If you own your own raft, load it up and ride the river. Even if you don't, the outfitting companies will rent you rafts and life jackets for a self-guided tour. Provo River Transportation Back to the Starting Point: Smart rafters take two cars, leaving one at the ending point in order to have a ride back to the starting point when your ride is over. Tour companies will provide transportation back to the launch point as part of their packages. Provo River Requires Life Jackets![]() River Rafting on the Provo River Utah
Utah Law Requires the Use of Lifejackets
The Provo River is relaxing yet deep and fast-moving and well-below your body temperature (water temperature ranges from 54 - 60 F.+) Wearing a life jacket is required by Utah State Law. Except on a designated flat-water area, Utah's boating act requires river riders to wear life jackets. Sheriff deputies and rangers are regularly on the river issuing citations to tube and raft riders not wearing proper life jackets. For the same reason, avoid carrying any alcohol or illegal substances. Claiming you didn't know about the law will not save you from an expensive ticket or arrest.
